About Me

Jean Masters

I am a deaf Historian, blogger, and researcher. With a B.A. in Deaf History International and New Zealand, I am a true expert in my field. Born and raised in Waikato, New Zealand, I currently reside in Eureka, Waikato with my hearing partner and our beloved dogs in our rural home. As a passionate deaf historian, my mission is to uncover and share the rich history of the deaf community with the world.

For many years, she has tirelessly advocated for individuals with disabilities, including those who are D/deaf or have disabilities. Her remarkable efforts have earned her widespread recognition in the sector, and she remains committed to making a positive difference in the lives of those she assists.

Recently, I have been occupied with a new project that I am currently working on. My task is to connect with a considerable number of former students who are deaf, former teachers who instructed hearing-impaired children, and the families of these children. This undertaking has been quite complex, as it is a completely new experience for me. Nevertheless, I am thrilled about the opportunity to have a positive impact on the lives of these individuals, and I am resolute in my determination to achieve success.
